Live A Live (1994) — 270,000 copies counted as a failure. 28 years later, 500,000 worldwide
Episode 45 of “Today Is Release Day”: Live A Live, published by Square for the Super Famicom on September 2, 1994, at 9,900 yen. Seven stories set in seven eras, each played its own way, in a single cartridge. Famitsu gave it 29 out of 40, and it sold 270,000 copies in Japan. The 2022 HD-2D remake then reached 500,000 copies worldwide.
