Bad at puzzles, my brain glitched watching Toodee and Topdee

Hopeless at puzzles but obsessed with them, I watch let's plays to witness the "Ah!" moment. Episode 8: Toodee and Topdee, where the same room reads as a 2D side-scroller or a top-down puzzle depending on the view. Switching turns it into a different game, yet my head insists it's still the same room — that contradiction glitches me out every time.
