Policenauts (1995) - the game Kojima called a culmination landed first on the 3DO, and took 14 years to reach English
Episode 68 of "Today Is Release Day": Policenauts, a hardboiled science fiction adventure directed and written by Hideo Kojima, released by Konami for the 3DO on September 29, 1995. Following the 1994 PC-9821 original, this was its first appearance on a home console, with new animation by AIC and newly composed music; development had begun in 1990. Famitsu's cross review later gave the PlayStation version 30 out of 40 and the Saturn version 32. An overseas release announced in 1996 quietly vanished, and the game only became playable in English when a fan translation was released in 2009. Today it turns 31.
