The Crew (2019): a ban nobody polices, and a table that keeps it anyway
The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine (2019, Thomas Sing, KOSMOS) is a cooperative game in which you are not allowed to confer. The rulebook offers one sentence: if you know something only because you know your own cards, you may not talk about it. There is no referee. The table keeps the rule anyway. This piece takes apart that unpoliceable ban, and the three-word vocabulary of the radio token, and asks what survives the move to code.
