Hexaflexagon (1939) — Paper Scraps Trimmed from a Notebook Grew a Hidden Face
In 1939 Princeton graduate student Arthur Stone folded trimmed paper strips and found a hexagon whose faces swap. Feynman and Tukey were among his colleagues. Martin Gardner introduced it in December 1956, and it became widely known. We trace its history within what the sources confirm.
